Location: Singapore Harbor Condominiums, Saugatuck/Douglas, Lower Michigan, Michigan, USA. Saugatuck/Douglas is about 12 miles south of Holland, MI. Saugatuck/Douglas was recently rated by Life Magazine as one of the 10 best vacation spots in the U. S.

Accommodations: Luxury Condominium – 1 king bedroom, 1 queen bedroom, 1 pullout queen sleeper in large living, dining, kitchen area – 2 full Baths - Sleeps 4-6

This is a luxury condominium in a beautiful setting, only a few feet from the seawall on the harbor at Saugatuck/Douglas, MI. The condo is on the top (third) floor of a nine-condo building equipped with an elevator. The elevation and a furnished, open porch provide the best possible view of the harbor and the beautiful sailboats, cruisers, and small craft that ply its waters.

Boaters have easy access to Lake Michigan through a deep channel about 1 ½ miles long. At various times of the year, there is excellent salmon and perch fishing within three or four miles of the harbor. Boaters can also go upriver in the Kalamazoo river for fishing, sight-seeing, etc. In the spring, early summer, and fall there is great fishing right off the Singapore Harbor docks.

It is less than a mile by car to the public beach (Oval Beach) on Lake Michigan, which has a huge expanse of beautiful white sand and great sand dunes. There is also a nice beach area at the end of the channel, just before you go out into Lake Michigan. It is only accessible by boat or on foot. It is protected and usually somewhat warmer than Lake Michigan. See the owner’s statement below for more about vacationing at this location.

Saugatuck/Douglas has a rich industrial (lumber and shipping) and cultural (arts and crafts) history. While the industry is mostly gone, Saugatuck, often referred to as the Art Coast of Michigan, retains it's artistic heritage in the form of art stores, studios and craft shops, museums, and well-maintained 18th century architecture and ambiance.

For the sports enthusiasts and boaters, Saugatuck offers easy access to lake and river sports-fishing, sailing, motor boating, canoeing, kayaking, and all other water sports. Fishing and sailing charters and sightseeing cruises are readily available.

Upscale restaurants and lounges grace the area and especially the Saugatuck waterfront, many offering dockside dining. There are beautiful forests and sand dunes for hiking, picnicking, and sightseeing. About 10 miles away, in Holland, are all the major retailers, as well as extensive exhibits, displays, and parks celebrating Holland’s rich Dutch heritage and floral industry.

OWNER'S STATEMENT: Just a word about our condo in Saugatuck/Douglas, which we are happy to share with you. It is our home part of the year and we went to considerable expense to make it very nice. We want you to enjoy it to the fullest, take care of it like you would your own home, be safe both inside and outside, especially around the seawall and docks and, of course, on the water. Singapore Harbor Condominiums is a place for quiet relaxation and recreation in a beautiful setting.

The pool (pool is about 20 by 40 feet) and area around it is well suited for lounging, sunbathing, reading, conversation, and cooling off. It is not well suited for running, diving, roughhousing, loud water games, etc. Very close by are marvelous beaches and sand dunes, where children of all ages can expend their energy, soak up the sun, and cool off in the pristine waters of Lake Michigan. Not far away is a great playground and many other attractions and activities for children.

We supply each of our guests with a Welcome Packet that contains all your needed information and more for your stay with us. Our guests really enjoy receiving these in the mail. If there is any further information you are interested in for the area and/or condo, we are happy to help!

Check-in time will begin after 4:00 p.m. Check-out time is at 10:00 a.m. Late check-outs may be arranged only on the date of departure and are strictly based on availability. Late check-outs will incur additional charges.

Advanced Deposits
We take a $300 Refundable Damage Deposit/Reservation Hold. This is returned to you within 4 - 10 days of your departure date provided nothing is missing or damaged. Your Deposit is due at the time you fill out your Rental Form in order to hold your desired time frame. The rental fee is due at least 30 days prior to your arrival date. We accept checks or credit card. You can save a little by paying with checks to avoid the credit card processing fees.

Standard Cancellation & Change Policy
Reservations less than twenty-eight (28) days in length require a thirty (30) day cancellation or change notice. Cancellations and changes that are made more than thirty (30) days prior to the check-in date will result in the refund of the advance deposit less a $40 cancellation fee. Cancellations and changes that are made within thirty (30) days of the check-in date will forfeit the full security deposit of $300. Monthly reservations of twenty-eight (28) days or longer require a one hundred twenty (120) day cancellation or change notice. Cancellations and changes that are made more than one hundred twenty (120) days prior to the check-in date will result in the refund of the security deposit less a $40 cancellation fee. Cancellations and changes that are made within one hundred twenty (120) days of the check-in date forfeit the full security deposit.

As the weather warmed, the House Finches, Purple Finches and White Crowned Sparrows serenaded us while nesting in the eaves above us. Our activities were curtailed, as you know, when Bill had to undergo surgery and move to the nursing home. I thank you for your kindness to me during this time of trial. Just returned from Singapore Harbor 308 and it was a wonderful experience. The location is directly on the harbor with a full balcony view of sailboats, kayaks, and Saugutuck. It is both beautiful and serene. The unit's photos are accurate as to how the property looks, however, what you cannot see are the beautiful top -of -the- line appliances in the kitchen, and the gorgeous granite countertops throughout. The property was extremely clean upon entry....spotless. There was plenty of room in the closets and dressers for luggage storage and clothing. Owner was so helpful and wanted everything to be perfect for guests. They were kind enough to take our family on a sailboat ride out into Lake Michigan. What a treat for us! Rachel, the property manager, answered any and all questions prior to arrival, making everything very clear. She was also only a phone call away if we needed anything. I would recommend this property to family or friends and think the price makes it a good value. If you choose the property to sleep six, it might be a bit crowded as you would need to use the sofa sleepers. Kids would be fine with that. Our family loves to sit on the deck and read and relax, drive 5 minutes to the beautiful public beach of Douglas, come back and use the pristine pool, and then prepare dinner in the kitchen while enjoying views from the wall of windows overlooking the harbor. We ate on the deck everynight (seats 4). We always take an excursion trip to Krupka's for blueberry picking...so fun and delicious! We played golf at Clerebrook Country Club, and enjoyed dinner there as well. We found the food to be delicious and the setting is beautiful with all the colorful gardens nearby. One day we had lunch at Wally's in Saugutuck and then shopped in the darling, quaint town. No trip is complete without a visit to Pumpernickel's for cinnamon rolls early in the morning. Climb Mt. Baldi and run down the massive sand dune....and then enjoy the most gorgeous sunset (926 PM and still light!!). Cap that off with a scrumptous ice cream cone in Saugutuck...but, hurry and pick out your flavor FAST..... they close at 10PM! And oh yes, the WiFi is a plus as well for those of us who needed to stay connected! Love our stay and hope to return very soon."

Thank you so much for another wonderful week in the Saugatuck condo! It was such a pleasure to meet Marilyn & Don and so nice of them to give us a tour of their beautiful sailboat. We were sorry we didn't get a chance to meet you though. I kept looking for someone with a bandaged hand! Hope you're doing better.

The toiletries was a very nice touch and I loved the scent of the body lotion and shampoo. Felt like I was at a great spa! Also liked the new guest book and enjoyed reading the previous entries.

Probably the only thing I can think of that would be nice to have is a blender for frozen drinks. And maybe a cabana boy to whip them up and serve us girls by the pool, ha ha! Oh, and maybe some paper plates, but we can always get those ourselves.

Seriously though, our friends were soooo impressed that we're talking about staying at the 3 br condo in Panama City next October. When you get a chance, could you let us know what the rate would be for each week? Oh and maybe the rate for the 1 br next door in case other friends want to tag along.
